Welcome
Our Spirituality
Community
Gatherings
This website highlights our community’s approach to spirituality.
We evolved as a community in Toronto, Canada and have been practising a Creation/Earth-centred spirituality together through stillness, study and shared celebration since 1996.
We ground ourselves in our evolving knowledge of
-
the richness of the creation spirituality tradition of western cultures,
-
modern science,
-
the deep intelligence of Indigenous stories and spiritualities, and
-
the wisdom of Buddhist teaching.
In this way, we thread together a universe story that speaks to our time, ignites our imaginations, and has the power to move us toward a more reciprocal and empathetic relationship with Earth.
We create a hospitable and supportive community where participants can feel safe to practice listening to “the great underground river” (Eckhart), in silence, in study, and through sacred ceremony.
We are a volunteer-run organization and share leadership. Gatherings are held three Sundays a month from September to June. (See Gatherings for more information.)
Similar to many faith communities, Ruah moved to an online format in March 2020.
We meet on Zoom three times a month: the first and third Sunday of the month at 10:30 in the morning, and the second Sunday of the month, at noon. Each gathering is approximately one and a half hours.
